The simplicity and benefits of walking

I used to hate walking. When I was 15 my parents would force me to go on a walk with them. There were tears. Lots of arguing, all to get me to come and walk on the beach with them. It's quite funny when you think about it.

I think about those days quite often. For starters the beach they would walk on is one of the most beautiful places to walk on, I would do anything to teleport myself there right now. Second, I never thought how much in comparison, I would crave to go for a walk there as I got older.

Walking is something so simple, yet so effective. I love walking, it's one of my favourite things to do by myself and anyone willing. I admire the creation around me, people walking and talking, it's one of the best things.

Let's talk facts, according to the Healthline :

> Walking at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week can reduce your risk for coronary heart disease by about 19 percent

> A small study found that taking a 15-minute walk three times a day (after breakfast, lunch, and dinner) improved blood sugar levels more than taking a 45-minute walk at another point during the day.

So it's not just good for you mentally but walking is so good for your physical health. Taking the time to go outside and walk is therapeutic and is a perfect way to clear your head. Walking is multifunctional, it can be a form of therapy, a social activity and even a self-care moment. Walking can do it all. The best part, it's free. Whatever you're doing right now, get up and go for a walk. If you are in bed, I get it. But go tomorrow when you wake up!
